There is one more collective noun book I want to tell you about, and then I’ll cool my jets on this topic. I came across images of the book Fishes by Brian Wildsmith while reading a lovely children’s book illustration blog. Originally published in 1968, Fishes is unfortunately out of print, but if you can find a copy, you’ll not only learn the collective nouns for different types of fish, but also you’ll experience some fantastic artwork. Brian Wildsmith has published over 70 books, and we can’t wait to learn more about him. So far, we’re fans–anyone who includes a “spread of sticklebacks” in a picture book is okay with us.
